  • Gig Harbor Senior Center: Closed effective March 12, 2020, until at least Phase 3 of Gov. Inslee's Phased Plan. Please check our Facebook and website to see our COVID-19 programs including grocery delivery service and meal delivery each Friday
  • GGHF Curious by Nature School: Following public health directive, school will be closed Tuesday, March 17 through the end of 2019/20 school year.
    • School programs will continue through “Distance Learning” via live stream, activity kits, Virtual Nature Explorations, and more to help keep students and families connected and engaged.
    • Regular school year will extend 2 weeks (through June 26, 2020), following lead of PSD.
    • 10th annual THE GREEN GIG: Locally Grown dinner and auction event has been postponed. Date TBD. This annual fundraiser provides critical financial resources for tuition assistance to area families in need through the Stewards Scholarship fund and diverse resources to support early learning programs.
  • GGHF EnviroCorps: Programs are currently on hold. 
  • #Community Harvest: 3rd annual Spring Food Drive with Peninsula School District postponed. Reschedule date: TBD.
  • Students of Distinction Awards Banquet: See our statement on the change of platform for 2020.


  • Gig Harbor Peninsula FISH: Gig Harbor Peninsula FISH is not closed and will be open their normal hours. To promote social distancing and reduce exposure risk, volunteers are pre-packing bags for community members to pick up. As always, folks will receive perishable and non-perishable foods, as well as other grocery items as available.
    • FISH is in need of volunteers. Click here to help FISH. New volunteers can fill out an application form when they arrive to volunteer.
    • Community members can help replenish the shelves by donating cash, non-perishables and toiletries. See the website for a donation link for more information.
  • Emergency Food NetworkCheck Emergency Food Network's website for continual updates on various local food banks
  • Food Backpacks 4 Kids
    • Food Backpacks 4 Kids is continually working to support their families, as well as additional families in this uncertain time. Backpacks are available for pickup every Saturday from Henderson Bay High School, Evergreen Elementary School and Gateway Park. If you are not already registered with the program email with your name, number of children, and most convenient pickup location. 
  • Meals on Wheels: Any senior 60+ is eligible to receive meals at home. For new clients there is a 2 week delay. Call Gay Bitz to sign up: (253) 474-1300
  • Catholic Community Services: Effective March 23, CCS is offering sack lunches to seniors 60+ years, each Monday and Wednesday at Peninsula Lutheran Chruch, 11:45 AM - 12:15 PM. New members must fill out paperwork at the time of their first pick-up. Existing clients only need to call in their reservation. Call Ginger, (253) 474-1200 by 12:00 PM on Wednesday for lunch(es) to be picked up following week. $3.50 suggested donnation for 60+ year old seniors.

  • Key Peninsula Community Services: KPCS's Senior Lunch Program will offer bagged lunches to those 60+
  • Peninsula Light Company: PLC has extended their Project Help Program which works to provide support to those that might be in need. Contact PLC for more information. 
  • Puget Sound Energy: Offering help to those who might be in need – reach out to PSE for more information!
