The Green Gig

Chowder On at the annual THE GREEN GIG™ Chowder Social!

Join in the fun and indulge in mouthwatering chowders at the Gig Harbor Vintage Aero Museum while enjoying the company of fellow chowder enthusiasts, educators and community epicureans alike.

Goers will enjoy a wide variety of local chef-prepared chowders with flairs from the West Coast to the East and beyond – including classics like clam, chicken, and salmon chowders to elevated corn, vegetarian, Thai chowders...and more. The TGG Chowder Social offers a heart and tummy-warming experience, replete with salad, grazing table, dessert dash, live music, and amazing live and silent auctions.

Over the past decade, THE GREEN GIG™ Locally Grown has brought together thousands – from farmers, fishers, harvesters, producers, bakers, roasters, brewers, and chefs to sponsors, donors, educators, families, and our greater community for one night in support of early childhood education, here in our community.

In 2024, we turn a new leaf – so to speak – on THE GREEN GIG, the community's premier food, fun, and fundraising event for nature-based early learning!

Do good for early childhood education and Chowder on!

Since 2012 and the inception of GGHF Curious by Nature School, the Foundation has provided over $400,000 to support early childhood education for more than 2,000 area children by underwriting a portion of tuition costs for every student and more than $50,000 in tuition assistance scholarships through the Stewards Scholarship Fund to help close the early learning access gap in our community and give all children, especially those in greatest need, the strong start they need and deserve.

Proceeds benefit GGHF Curious by Nature's outdoor early learning program and the Stewards Scholarship Fund to help bridge the early learning access gap in our community.

Annually, the generous commitment of our fiscal, food and beverage sponsors help make The Green Gig™ LOCALLY GROWN an amazing - one of a kind community event in support of early childhood education. But, it goes deeper than that. Sponsors are amazing farmers, fishers, bakers, distillers, grocers, producers - and families from our community!

Thanks to our sponsors, we have been able to improve our school's outdoor classroom, provide the highest caliber early learning programs, and annual tuition assistance grants through the Stewards Scholarship Fund to area families in need.
